My Fiber Equipment

People always ask me what wheels and equipment I have. Here is my current list:

Spinning Wheels:

I primarily spin on a Majacraft Aura wheel with an Overdrive head. I also have a rather new Electric Eel Wheel. This is a great little e-spinner that I backed on Kickstarter. It's great for spinning thinner traditional yars and is really cost effective, lightweight, and portable. It's about as loud as a sewing machine so I can use it while watching tv without too much trouble in the volume department. Overall I am very pleased with this little wheel.

I still have my old Majacraft Pioneer wheel too but it doesn't get as much love these days since my Aura pretty much does everything I want.

Drum Carders:

I have two. A Strauch Mad Batt'r Double Wide and my new Majacraft Fusion Engine. I love them both for different reasons.

Other equipment and products I use:

Fiber Prep:

I have a blending board that I made. I haven't used that in a while but it's pretty good. I'm having too much fun with my new drum carder right now. I also have a box picker which I hardly use anymore and hand carders and a really nice set of combs from Three Ravens.

Wool Wash:

I use Unicorn Power Scour and Namaste Farms Dirty Rotten Bastard for scouring raw fleece. I also love the Namaste Wash 'n Dye for longwool locks and low grease fleece.

For washing finished yarn I use SOAK. I find that I like the scents and they do a good job without leaving much residue.
